Everyone is welcome to join our supportive community as we provide essential AOD services to the Central Queensland region.

We are committed to providing the highest quality of care to clients through our culturally developed ADARRN Model of Care.

Together, we can embark on a journey towards recovery and hope.

A Legacy of Healing:  33 Years of Recovery, Unity and Strength

For 33 years Gumbi-Gumbi Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation has stood as a lifeline on Darumbal land.  From humble beginnings in 1991, when Hazel and Darrel Kaur founded 'Halo House' to address the urgent need for culturally safe rehabilitation, we've grown into a vital lifeline for those on the path to recovery in our community.

Born out of community need, we've never lost sight of our purpose.  As an Indigenous Community Controlled organisation, we've adapted, evolved, and continued to serve, responding to the changing challenges faced by the community.  We celebrate this journey with our community - recognising how far we've come and how we all play a part in each other's healing.  Like the Gumbi-Gumbi tree, our strength lies in our deep roots - resilience, connection, and commitment to holistic, culturally safe care.

We are proud of our progress, not with boastfulness, but with humility, knowing our success is a reflection of the strength of the community we serve.  We'll keep pushing forward, leading the way in recovery while staying true to the mission and values of our Gangulu elders that shaped us from day one.
